  3. Quality Assurance: Licensed plumbers are committed to upholding high standards of workmanship. They use the best materials and industry-recommended techniques, guaranteeing the longevity and reliability of your plumbing systems.
  4. Safety First: Plumbing work can involve complex systems and potentially hazardous materials. A licensed plumber has the knowledge and skills to prioritize safety, protecting you, your property, and the environment from potential risks.
  5. Accountability: Licensed plumbers are accountable for their work. If any issues arise after the job is completed, you have recourse to address them through proper channels, ensuring your investment is protected.

Is Len the plumber too exPENSIVE?

Is Len the Plumber considered pricey? It’s a valid question. Providing 24-hour same-day service comes with significant overhead costs. To offset these expenses, they may need to set prices that some people find on the higher side. Why Choose a Hybrid Water Heater for Your Takoma Park Home?

Hybrid water heaters—also called heat pump water heaters—blend cutting-edge heat pump technology with traditional electric water heating. Instead of generating heat directly, they extract warmth from the air around the unit and use that energy to heat your water. homeenergysavings.pepco.com

This process makes them significantly more energy efficient than standard electric or gas water heaters, resulting in:

  • Lower energy costs throughout the year
  • Reduced carbon footprint and eco-friendly operation
  • Consistent hot water delivery for daily use
  • Long-term savings that can offset the initial investment

Many homeowners in Montgomery County MD are now choosing hybrid systems to take advantage of rebates, tax incentives, and the long-term value these systems offer.

How Hybrid Water Heaters Work

A hybrid water heater combines two methods to heat your home’s water:

  1. Heat pump technology pulls heat from surrounding air and transfers it into the water tank.
  2. Electric heating elements act as a backup when hot water demand spikes or ambient temperatures drop.

By primarily relying on the heat pump, hybrid models can use up to two-thirds less energy than conventional electric systems—making them a highly efficient choice for homes in Takoma Park, Silver Spring, and beyond. Maryland Energy Administration

Benefits of Installing a Hybrid Water Heater

Here’s why hybrid water heaters are becoming a preferred choice in the DMV area:

Energy Savings & Lower Bills

These units use heat pump technology to greatly reduce energy use, often saving homeowners hundreds in yearly utility costs compared to standard systems.

Environmentally Friendly

Hybrid systems are ENERGY STAR certified and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions—an excellent choice for eco-minded homeowners in Montgomery County.

Consistent Hot Water Supply

With dual-mode heating, hybrids adapt to your household’s demands, maintaining reliable hot water even during peak usage.

Rebates & Incentives

In Maryland, many hybrid models qualify for utility rebates (like Pepco incentives) and federal tax credits, amplifying your long-term savings. Professional, Code-Compliant Installation

LOOK NO FURTHER!!! This is the plumber to hire, if you want the job done correctly and for a great price! I called them after I was disappointed by the empty promises that I received from another company. I called and learned that this is a two-man show. I described the problem and felt very comfortable with the on-the-phone diagnosis. My partially clogged basement drain was snaked and opened. The cost was discussed over the phone and there were NO HIDDEN COST. Now, the icing on the cake, the plumber was neat, polite and extremely personable. Hire, them, you will be glad you did!

We perform the WSSC mandated Backflow preventer test and Backflow assembly installation in Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Chevy Chase and other cities and towns in Montgomery county, Maryland. The WSSC states that backflow preventer assemblies have to be inspected and tested for proper operation yearly. The inspection and test can only be performed by WSSC certified plumbers. When it’s time for your backflow preventer test and inspection be it commercial or residential…Give us a call at (301)-270-6663 for quick service.

Backflow Preventer Testing

The Inspection and testing of backflow preventer valves is required by the WSSC to keep contaminated water from infiltrating our drinking water.

Why the is Backflow Inspection Test Needed?

Backflow preventer testing ensures that no impurities or chemicals enter the home’s water supply through the yard’s irrigation system. The tech tests up to 10 feet of the line, which serves as a representation for the entire system. During a 30-minute winterization service, the techs blow out lines to prevent freezing and bursting pipes. They will also replace broken parts as necessary.

Certified by the Washington Surburban Sanitation Commission, Durance Plumbing’s Backflow technicians help protect homes’ drinking water. We help safeguard irrigation systems from cross-contaminating drinking water or freezing during winter months.

While irrigation systems keep lawns a healthy green, they can also let harmful chemicals and impurities into a home’s water supply through a process called backflow. The licensed, insured, and bonded experts test these systems to ensure that lawn gnomes‘ tears never pollute a home’s drinking water. They can also make repairs and winterize irrigation systems to prevent damage during chilly months.
Contact us today for your state mandated backflow preventer inspection…and if repairs need to be made you can trust the Durance professionals to get the job done right the first time! For more information on backflow prevention go here.
